Your default image position would be the position in relationship to your text comments that you would use most of the time.  Individual images may of course be adjusted directly if you want them different than your usual setting.  When mobile inspections are retrieved they automatically use your desktop default image position at that time.

You may easily change your default image position at any time for new images to  be inserted or imported after the change is made. Tap the image settings gear and choose Settings to set the default size and position options for new images, as demonstrated in this video:

Positions correspond to the toolbar icons seen when importing or editing images in the desktop program.

Left positions image to the left of text within the margin area. Text wraps alongside the image and then underneath. Note: If less than 0.50" of space remains in the margin area for text to print, image is automatically printed "above" the text.

Right positions images to the right of text within the margin area. Text only wraps in a column left of the image. Note: If less than 0.50" of space remains in the margin area for text to print, image is automatically printed "above" the text.

Above centers image within the text margins, with text comments printed beneath the image.

Below flags images for printing in a separate "Image Section" produced below the subheading area. The "Image Section" margins and formatting are determined by Page Setup settings, and may differ from other report elements. Images below are simply added to the Image Section area as text, so different sized images may insert side by side or wrap across the page within the margin area. If a copied subheading label is the same and contains no text, as in the case when quickly adding new images using the lower Thumbnails pane, then it also skips that subheading formatting (to avoid extra lines).  However that doesn't occur if an image in the middle of a group of copied subheadings is set to different positioning, or for special items like Findings/Recommendations pairs of subheadings.

A popular option for those who frequently use multiple images for an item or area is the Below image position, since it allows multiple images to combine together at final print time, and print across the page.  See Print a group of images side by side
